Will there be software updates?
Yes, regular software updates will be made available for your device via Wi-Fi.
Is CINEMOOD waterproof?
Unfortunately, not right now. Our CINEMOOD scientists haven’t yet cracked the code of how to watch movies underwater, but as soon as they do we’ll let you know. For now, please, don’t get your CINEMOOD wet.
What is CINEMOOD made of? Any harmful materials?
CINEMOOD’s outer body is made from durable, smooth plastic with no sharp edges that could potentially harm your child. Its insides are made up of a complex slew of electronic components that we won’t bore you with!
Cleaning my CINEMOOD
We know you probably have a million things to clean. Luckily, it’s super easy to keep your CINEMOOD sparkling! Here’s what we suggest:
- Safety first! Disconnect all cables and turn your CINEMOOD Storyteller off by pressing and holding the Power button.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth (like a lens cloth) to wipe away dirt and dust from your device.
- As we mentioned before, CINEMOOD is not waterproof, so please avoid getting anything wet in any of the openings.
- Don’t use commercial cleaning products or compressed air.
Now when you’ve really gotten into it, go ahead and also clean your device’s silicone stand. Here’s how:
- Run the silicone stand under water and clean it gently with soap.
- Dry the silicone stand with a soft cloth.
Voila! Now when that’s done, go tackle that pile of dishes in the sink.
Charging the battery
The CINEMOOD Storyteller can operate consistently for about 3 hours. When it’s time to charge your device, here’s what you should do:
Connect the USB charging cable on the left side of your CINEMOOD Storyteller.
Connect the other end of the charging cable to a power adapter and a power source.
Leave your Storyteller to charge for up to 2 hours.
Let the movie marathon continue!
Is CINEMOOD loud enough?
Yes, it definitely is. CINEMOOD is equipped with a 2W speaker, so it sounds surprisingly loud for such a small device. If you’re hanging out with your CINEMOOD in a noisy area, you have the option of connecting external speakers or headphones via Bluetooth or the 3.5mm audio jack. Problem solved!
What kind of surfaces can I project onto?
Honestly, let your imagination run wild when it comes to this. You can project on pretty much any surface – walls, doors, floors, cars, airplanes, whatever! Our first customers loved the feeling and ease of lying in bed and projecting their CINEMOOD on the ceiling. Sunday mornings will never be the same. Of course, light exposure and distance will play a factor in the quality of the image. Just keep in mind that CINEMOOD’s projection distance is anywhere between 1 and 15 feet.
Pro Tip, courtesy of Science: Projecting on dark or black surfaces won’t work so well because it won’t reflect light.
Can I get more content for CINEMOOD?
For now, CINEMOOD has a pre-loaded content library. New content can be unlocked with Smart Covers (we’ll talk more about here). In the near future, we’ll be introducing subscription-based content updates.
Can I turn off the lamp while listening to a lullaby or fairy tale?
We’ve got you covered—the lamp turns off automatically after 1 minute of playing audio. Lay back, relax, and enjoy.
Can I stream videos from my smartphone or tablet to CINEMOOD?
We are actually looking into this matter, and once we are sure streaming will be stable across all mobile platforms, we will definitely add this feature. Stay tuned!
Use the longest button (4), to adjust the focus till you achieve the desired picture clarity. Remember – the distance between the projector and the screen will also affect the picture quality, so adjust accordingly.
Use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the audio volume to your liking. Does it get any easier than that?
What if I have problems with my CINEMOOD?
When you purchase CINEMOOD, you’re also getting a 1-year limited warranty. In case of any problems contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Low brightness and picture contrast
To get the most out of your CINEMOOD, watch your content in a dark or dimly-lit room on a white reflective surface. Adjust the clarity of the picture using the focus buttons (as we described above). If the picture is still blurry, the lens may need cleaning. You can do that (carefully) with a non-abrasive dry cloth. Refer back to “Cleaning my CINEMOOD” for more instructions.
No WiFi connection with the device
This problem may occur if you try to connect to Wi-Fi with a range frequency of 5 GHz.
CINEMOOD Storyteller operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. Many routers support two modes: 2 & 5 GHz. To fix the problem, try switching to a frequency of 2.4 GHz.
If you still have problems connecting to the Wi-Fi, please send an email to email@example.com. Your device may be in need of a software update.
No Bluetooth connection with the device
Is your device too far away from the Bluetooth coverage area? Try moving it closer.
The screen/beam does not light up
Make sure that your device is charged. If not, recharge it and try again.
No sound comes out of my CINEMOOD
Use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the volume. Make sure that the playable file has a sound track. If you still can’t hear anything from your device, shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and include your warranty claim.
CINEMOOD suddenly turns off
Hmmm. This shouldn’t be happening. Have you checked the battery? Try recharging it (refer back to “Charging the battery” for more details).
How can I restart my CINEMOOD?
To turn off the device completely, press and hold the Power Off button for five seconds.
Can’t connect to the USB hard drive
CINEMOOD works only with flash drives at the moment. HDD and SSD disks are not currently supported.
To charge your device, we recommend that you use the AC adapter and USB cable that was included in your CINEMOOD package. The maximum charge current is 2A. Service does not apply to the use of third-party accessories.
SAFETY AND HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS
Age requirements for children
CINEMOOD is really very safe. It’s designed for children ages 2 and up, and has no sharp edges or potentially dangerous fan. And you don’t need to worry about your kids sticking their fingers in anything and getting shocked—it’s got a protective solid casing that prevents anything like that from happening. Phew!
Is it safe to look directly into the screen/beam?
CINEMOOD features an optical engine brightness level, making it safe for the eyes of your little ones. However, we strongly recommended avoiding direct eye contact with the projector beam, as it can be very bright. Please, don’t point the beam at anybody’s eyes. That’s not the best way to make friends.
How do I control how much time my child spends watching cartoons?
According to trusty psychologists, it’s recommended that children limit cartoon watching to 30 minutes. And we don’t want to brag, but we’ve solved this problem for you too! There’s a timer built into your CINEMOOD to let you and your child know when their 30 minutes is up. You’re welcome!
